Glamping on farmland under the beautiful Caithness sky
At our SECRET Glamping site you won’t have any immediate neighbours so you really can get away from it all! Here you’ll have your own plot of farm land in this crofting countryside, with all the comforts you need and magnificent views under the brilliant skies we are lucky to have.
Our Secret Bell Tent is our first accommodation offering and is an ideal space to enjoy Glamping in Caithness.
But with a location just off the NC500 and only 5 miles from the bustling town of Wick you are not too far from a wealth of attractions and things to do and see should you choose to leave this idyllic spot.
Find out more about our Bell Tent & Glamping Options.
Whatever secret option you choose your closest neighbours will be some distance away (apart from the occasional visiting sheep perhaps). The Bell tent is the first of our Secret Glamping options to open – we have the Secret Shepherd’s Hut and Secret Crofters Stone Cottage on the way – each has it’s own quiet location, but shares the magnificent hilltop views.
This is a full size 5m Bell Tent with Double Bed with Tempur Mattress. cooking stove, table and chairs, reclining chairs with footstools and it is carpeted and has hand woven rugs. The stove has a built in chimney and and you’ll get a bag of sticks (extra fuel can be purchased). There are towels, bedding, books and all the most important things you’ll need for a comfortable stay in your secret location!
Outside there is a fire pit with cooking sway, bench seating and a table and chairs and a toilet tent. Around and leading up to tent we have solar lights in the ground and in the tent and a candle chandelier on the centre pole.
The Bell Tent is available from June to early September from £112.50 per night depending on the length of stay – use the booking widget to check availability and prices.
The ultimate luxury with the Bell Tent is you have a whole hill field all to yourselves and the tent is positioned to view the sunset from inside in a sky which is ever changing but seemingly always impressive. During the middle of summer – late June through July we get very long days here, the moon can be an impressive sight as you feel you can almost touch it. These longer days make it easy to walk/cycle back late from our nearest local pub, the Smiddy Inn in Thrumster. The Smiddy is a lively place providing good pup grub and puts on music events supported by local acts.
